My piece symbolises struggle in modern day society and shows the impact of social media and the dismay that it causes.
I chose this scene for my final piece as it combined my initial ideas. The building and tube station were based on Piccadilly Circus. This is where I had the inspiration for the digital billboard that displays the cost of living crisis.
The medium I chose was acrylic paint with the intention of bright colours and texture. I also used posca markers for details, writing and highlights.
My composition consisted of a large open eye in order to be able to contain everything inside. The reflection of the pupil was influenced by the artist My Dog Sighs (Paul Stone) who makes similar but graffiti-style artworks.
