In August 2024, I had the opportunity to visit the Getty Center in Los Angeles, home to the Getty Museum. Designed by architect Richard Meier between 1984 and 1997, and sitting on a hilltop overlooking LA, I found the building to be as beautiful as the arts it contained. The photographs below represent my study on the form, function and aesthetic of the building which makes extensive and repetitive use of a grid pattern in the windows and brickwork to create connections between the interior and exterior. An online map of the Museum's layout is here.
