During summer 2024, I spent two weeks’ work experience at the HKS architecture practice in London. This provided me with the opportunity to understand the work flow of the company and observe the RIBA design process from the initial client meeting to the final construction plans.
I was given my own design brief to create a villa for their current mega-project in Qiddiya, Saudi Arabia. I first analysed the site, then came up with a design narrative, planned layouts and then 3D printed my final model.
Not only did this experience affirm my passion for a career in architecture, I also built up my skills in communication, problem-solving and use of technology as I learnt how to develop designs in industry-standard software like Rhino to then produce renders in V-ray and Enscape.
